Job Description:



SSSI is looking to hire a Senior System Administrator/Engineer to support and accomplish assigned tasks. The selected candidate shall be responsible to submit biweekly status report displaying achievements, accomplishments and difficulties if any along with recommendation to curb them.


Description of Work:


Interact with the Agency top management and technical staff.


  • As a system administrator interact with the Agency’s COR and other technical staff at the direction of the COR to support Agency’s systems.

  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues and find/implement solution to problems in collaboration with EOP technical staff.

  • Document system problems and resolutions.

  • Provide nominal COTS/GOTS support for internal applications such as AutoCAD. This may involve research, recommendations and coordination for installation with EOP technical staff.

    Assist with the ONDCP’s data migration.


  • Copy or move the Agency’s data and software applications to alternate servers. This includes:

  • Developing and running automated scripts as needed to expedite the process.

  • Systematically eliminating duplicate files. Generally, identifying candidate files that may need to be archived, confirming whether files are usable, and, on a case-by-case basis restructuring folders or files for easier navigation.

  • Providing paths for data locations, as well as the size of drives, folders and files, and dates when the data was last accessed or modified.

  • Working with EOP system engineers to plan and schedule the work.

  • Conducting tests to ensure that folders/files are available/accessible on the new network as expected.

  • Finding/implementing solutions to problems in collaboration with EOP technical staff.

  • Documenting migration problems, issues and resolutions.

    Basic Requirement


  • Write and run scripts against legacy data to:

  • Identify duplicate files.

  • Modify file names for compatibility with the destination servers.

  • Help organize and record folder/file path names.

  • Identify files that may need to be archived.

  • Provide report of file or application last accessed or modified dates.

  • Eliminate duplicate files with COR approval, organize files that need to be archived, provide spreadsheets with folder/file path locations.

  • Move, test, and validate approximately 1.5 terabytes of data, including software applications, residing on approximately 20 share drives and 2-3 host computers prior to the end of the period-of-performance. This shall be accomplished in collaboration with EOP technical staff.

  • Provide weekly one-page status reports on progress made.

    CERTIFICATIONS
    Candidate must have at least one of the following Information Assurance Tech (IAT) - Level II Security certifications.


  • Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials (GSEC)

  • Security + Continuing Education (CE)

  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Security
