SSSI is seeking Cloud System Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Woodlawn, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Build a Red Hat Platform as a Service (PaaS) cloud infrastructure:
• Red Hat Linux administration and support
• Understand and use essential tools for handling files, directories, command-line environments, and documentation
• Operate running systems, including booting into different run levels, identifying processes, starting and stopping virtual machines, and controlling services
• Configure local storage using partitions and logical volumes
• Create and configure file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions, encryption, access control lists, and network file systems
• Deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installation, update, and core services
• Manage users and groups, including use of a centralized directory for authentication
• Manage security, including basic firewall and SELinux configuration
• OpenShift Enterprise implementation and support
• Configure and deploy OpenShift Enterprise master hosts
• Configure and deploy OpenShift node hosts
• Deploy the OpenShift Enterprise authentication
• Manage OpenShift Enterprise resources
• Use OpenShift Enterprise to deploy applications
• CloudForms Hybrid Cloud Management
• Perform initial configuration of CloudForms appliance
• Deploy virtual machines
• Perform policy-based management
• Customize a dashboard
• Create a catalog
• Provision services
• Analyze timelines and events
• Run automations
• Assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution on Linux systems – performance, health, configuration
• Assure best-practices and standards are implemented and adhered to for software systems
• Perform daily system checks, review and respond to events reflected in various management and monitoring tools
• Notify Government representatives of issues involving performance of the operating environment
• Conduct system audit reviews and perform maintenance functions as required to ensure system health
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences
• Interface with the customer on a daily basis

Qualifications
This requisition may be filled at either a level III or a level IV.

Basic Qualifications for Cloud System Engineer III:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of experience in a System Engineering discipline, or 9 years of experience will satisfy degree and experience requirements.
• 4 years Linux/UNIX systems administration experience
• 2 years demonstrated experience in Red Hat PaaS related disciplines
• 1 year hands on Cloud computing experience with RedHat CloudForms, OpenShift, Docker, or other IaaS or PaaS solutions
• Must be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Position of Public Trust

Basic Qualifications for Cloud System Engineer IV:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 9 years of experience in a System Engineering discipline, or 13 years of experience will satisfy degree and experience requirements
• 7 years Linux/UNIX systems administration experience
• 3 years demonstrated experience in Red Hat PaaS related disciplines
• 2 years hands on Cloud computing experience with RedHat CloudForms, OpenShift, Docker, or other IaaS or PaaS solutions
• Must be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Position of Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.

• 2 years of experience with version control (CVS, Subversion, Git, etc.)
• Strong understanding of and compliance with IT development process (SDLC).
• Strong requirements planning and project implementation skills and be able to work with internal technical staff and outside contractors to deliver results.
• Web-based and E-Commerce development or in-depth support experience a plus
• JavaScript, CSS, and HTML 5 experience a plus
• Certification in one or more of the following:
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise Administration
• Red Hat CloudForms Hybrid Cloud Management
• Red Hat JBoss Administration (RHCJA)
